Robin Family Update

I can't believe how much the robin babies have grown. Here are a few more photos.

This was taken on June 12:

These were taken today.

The nest is getting too small, their little heads are poking out from under poppa robin. I guess it won't be long before they're ready to fly off.

Bye for now.

I don't know anything about robins except they like worms and are deemed the official sign of spring, so I'm loving the education you're providing. Hence a question, "How do you know this is poppa robin in the nest and not momma robin? Are the males really active in the childrearing?

Hi Gail,
I'm assuming it's poppa because he's larger and has fuller feathers on his head. He doesn't startle when I'm up against the window taking a picture, he just looks at me as if he's thinking "what a stupid woman!"
They take turns sitting on the nest and feeding the babies.
If you look at my Jun 11 post, you'll see both momma and poppa on the nest feeding the babies.
