Just a quick note to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
To my friends who left me those wonderful messages on my last post, I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply to you all individually, but I want you to know how much your well wishes and prayers have meant to me. Thank you.
We had a bit of a scare over the Christmas, with Mom's oxygen machine. The first incident happened in the early hours of Christmas morning when I woke to the sound of the machine's alarm. For some reason the power had gone out, but luckily I keep 2 oxygen tanks on hand in case of such an emergency. I got Mom hooked up to the tank, and fortunately the power came back on a few hours later.
Two nights later, or very early in the morning, the alarm went again, only this time the power was alright, but the machine was broken!! It was 1:00 a.m., we were having a snow storm, and I only had one tank left!
I called the emergency number for the oxygen supplier, but he wasn't able to come right away, something about a snow plow blocking his truck, but he would get here as soon as he could. I lowered Mom's oxygen a little so the tank would last a bit longer, and waited. Fortunately, the new machine, and back-up tanks arrived at 8:00 a.m., just as the tank was on empty. Mom slept through it all, but I have few new gray hairs!
I haven't made any New Year's resolutions this year, as I usually fail miserably in keeping them, so all I can say is that I am going to try to finish up a few UFOs, and I have already started de-cluttering my sewing space. Oh, and maybe try to lose a few pounds along the way! lol
What about you? Have you made any resolutions?

Wishing you a Happy New Year! I don't make resolutions anymore but I do plan on working on UFOs this year.
I'm glad all came out alright with your mother - those incidents can be very stressful and scary.
I'm not making any resolutions this year - well, maybe a few. But first I have to finish the healing of my emergency back surgery - it has been 5 weeks and they are telling me it will be 2 more months and then more PT and healing will continue slowly for up to three years - yikes - but the progress I've made so far is beyond their expectations - so I'm looking forward to a busier and healthier 2013. My resolution might be to enjoy life and be conscious of health signs and not put things off so long. Happy new year to you - enjoy your decluttering and designing.
No resolutions for me either, too hard sometimes.
sounds like some excitement with mum, hope there isn't any more of that happening.
happy new year!
My best wishes to your family. That sounds like a truly frightening experience. My mother is also using an oxygen machine, but fortunately we don't have snow issues in Texas.
I resolve to take better care of myself so I don't get so worn down when I take care of others. Let's hope I keep that resolution!
Happy New Year, Dorothy! Very scary stuff with your mum, so glad everything was resolved in time. I wish you both the best in the coming year!
Dear Dorothy, I Wish you a Happy New Year.
Hugs
Happy 2013 Dorothy.
ciao Linda
Sorry about the problems with your Mother. Know that was stressful. Wishing you and yours a Happy and HEALTHY 2013!!!
The only resolution I seem to be able to keep, is not making resolutions anymore!!! So I am sticking with that.

Oh my but it sounds like you've got your hands full over there. Remember to try to get a bit of time in for the caregiver hey...
No resolutions here. I made the resolution last year, to never make any resolutions again, and I am keeping to it!! The only one I ever have!! lol!!!
You take care lady... ;)
Dorothy, I hope you and your Mom are doing fine and wishing you a healthly, happy and peaceful 2013.
